This pack is one of Icônes' documented-shoot series — fashion icons and the photographs that made them — the Alek Wek pack draws on Gilles Bensimon's Elle cover of November 1997 — the first dark-skinned African face on that cover — the London runways that followed, and the aid-camp visits she made as a refugee advocate. The value is the face that changed the cover, in the three registers that followed.
