This pack draws on Almack's Assembly Rooms, King Street, Wednesday nights 1814 to 1820 — the rooms where the patronesses could ruin a Season with a raised eyebrow, the waltz just allowed, a card of admission worth more than a title.

Photographically the register is candle gold at the entrance, warm blurred motion mid-waltz, and pale dawn light in the supper room. The palette is white satin, silver, pearl, candle gold and waltz red.

Three scenes carry the pack: the white satin and plumes at the top of the steps with a chandelier behind, mid-turn in a red-coated partner's arm with mirrors as a blur, and seated at a supper table with the gloves off as dawn breaks. Each is a genuine facet of a first Season, not one gown in three rooms.
