This pack is one of Etiquette's royal court photoshoot series — the Elector of Saxony and King of Poland in Dresden around 1720, ruler of the Green Vault's jewelled treasures and the Meissen porcelain he invented. It's baroque gilt and candle, the most extravagant German court dress of the period, worn by a king famous for bending horseshoes.

Photographically the register is early-eighteenth-century Saxon court dress — a coat of gold brocade with diamond buttons over a jewelled waistcoat, a lace cravat with a diamond pin, a full dark wig, the Polish White Eagle and the Golden Fleece, and red heels. The palette runs gold, diamond, crimson, Meissen white, and Dresden green.

Three scenes carry the pack: the Green Vault among Dinglinger's jewelled treasures and mirrored walls; the Zwinger's courtyard beside a groomed horse; a table at the Meissen manufactory holding a porcelain figure to the light.
