The chambers register
This pack draws on Inner Temple in December — the barrister's gown and bands, the brick and the gas lights, the picture chambers put on the door. The wig is left off; the value is the barrister's own portrait, not a costume of the courtroom.
Photographically the register runs flat overcast light against black brick, the white bands the frame's one bright point. The palette is black throughout, broken only by the bands' white.
