The Dune Archipelago register

Bazaruto is an archipelago of sand islands, with high white dunes dropping into turquoise channels, dugongs and whale sharks in the water, dhows, and a research lodge of thatch and timber. The pack dresses the marine biologist in the two colours his islands are made of: a white linen shirt under a turquoise cotton jacket, the white carrying the weight in the sand and the turquoise the saturation in the water.

He stands before a wall of white dune sand, rests a hand on the weathered hull of a dhow drawn up on the beach with turquoise water soft behind, and then stands on a dune's crest for a half-length view, the white dunes sweeping behind him down to the channels.
