This pack is one of Icônes' documented-shoot series — fashion icons and the photographs that made them — the Borg pack draws on Centre Court on the fifth of July 1980, the Monte-Carlo terrace of the tax-exile years, and the Stockholm quay where Sweden met the boat. The value is tennis's ice-cold idol at the greatest final, the exile's balcony, and the homecoming.

Photographically the register is seventies and eighties sports Kodachrome — soft English July light on worn baseline grass, hard Riviera glare bounced off azure water, silver Baltic light off the quay — with a Fila pinstriped shirt, tight shorts and a sweat-dark headband carrying the Centre Court take, a terry polo and espadrilles carrying the Monte-Carlo terrace, and a duffel coat over a track top carrying the Stockholm homecoming; the palette runs Fila cream, grass green, Riviera azure, Stockholm grey.
