A Bouldering Photoshoot, Chalk and Crag

Nine photos of you in one setting

How your model is created from your photos

Every pack on Narcis, made with your face

Nine photographs of you in one setting: one pack of the Narcis catalogue.

Nine photographs of you, styled with chalked hands, an overhang crux shot, and a crash-pad camp at an unbranded crag, in portrait format. The nine vary in crop, expression and light, so there are real choices, not nine identical files.

The bouldering photoshoot register

Bouldering has its own visual grammar — chalk dust in the air, a body reading a problem on rock, a crash pad camp of gear and chalk bags at the base. This pack renders that register: focused, physical, closer to a climbing documentary still than a gym photo.

The nine portraits move through three settings that carry the bouldering day. Chalked hands, tight focus on grip against real rock texture. The crux overhang, shot from below, the climber reading the move. And the crash pad camp, gear scattered, the pause between attempts.

No gym-chain, brand, or gear-logo signage anywhere in frame — plain chalk, plain gear. What the pack borrows is the focus and the rock texture; what it renders is a photograph, photoreal, a real-looking portrait of you, not a painting or an illustration.

How to photograph yourself for a bouldering photoshoot

Better source photos make better portraits.

  1. Even, soft lightStand near a window with indirect daylight on your face. Avoid overhead bulbs and phone flash — both flatten the face.
  2. Front or three-quarter angleCamera at eye level, facing it or turned slightly to three-quarter. No selfie-stick uplook.
  3. Face fully clearHair off the face where possible, no sunglasses. A clear, front-facing photo gives the model the most of you to work with.
  4. A focused, calm expressionThe register here is problem-solving focus — a settled, concentrated gaze reads truer on the wall than a smile.
  5. Plain background is fineDon't worry about your own backdrop — the crag replaces it. A plain wall behind you just helps the model focus on your face.

Frequently asked questions

Will it actually look like a bouldering crag, and like a real photo?
Yes on both. The chalked hands, the crux overhang, and the crash-pad camp come back unmistakable, and the output is photoreal — a real-looking photograph of you, not a painting or a cartoon.
Is any of the gear or gym branded?
No. The pack renders plain chalk and plain gear — no gym-chain or gear-brand signage anywhere in frame.
Who is this pack styled for?
This is a mixed pack — both men's and women's looks are in the grid, so it fits either gender directly.
Can I use this as a climbing keepsake?
Yes — it's a common use. A printed portrait works as a keepsake for a climbing trip, or a gift for a climbing partner.
Will the photos look like me?
Every photo looks like you, well photographed. If one is nearly right, say what to change, in your own words.
Do I have to write a prompt?
No. There is nothing to write: you pick a pack, and it is ready in seconds.
How many photos of myself do I add?
Between six and twenty, from different days and in different light, with your face clear. We check each one when you add it.
What happens to the photos I add?
They are used only to create your model, on our own servers in the European Union. They are not shared and not sold.

When the bouldering pack fits

  • A profile picture with real crag presence instead of a gym-wall photo
  • A gift for a climber or bouldering partner
  • A printed portrait for a climbing gym locker or home wall
  • A keepsake for a climbing trip or send you're proud of
  • A striking desktop or phone wallpaper
  • A social post that reads editorial rather than staged
  • A milestone photo for a first outdoor send
  • A birthday or holiday gift for a dedicated climber

About narcis

Most AI photo tools put every pose, job, era, and style in one giant catalog. The photos all look like every other AI photo on the internet — a glaze over a stock face. Narcis goes the other way. One job: photos of you that look like photographs. You add at least 6 photos of yourself, and we create your AI model from them. Your photos are ready in a few hours, and we email you when they are. Then this pack and every other pack on Narcis can be made with your face. Each pack is curated against real references — paintings, photographers, places — and tested on real faces before it goes live. Built and run by one small team, on our own servers.
