The Terminal One register

Roissy's Terminal One is one building doing the work of a stage set: the concrete ring, the glass tubes crossing the void overhead, the light that never quite decides between grey and navy. It's the last building in most people's stories of someone leaving, or the first in the story of someone coming back. This pack works that second version — a profile portrait taken at the mouth of a glass tube, flowers held down at the side, the look of someone who has been waiting and is done waiting.

The palette is a single hue worn down to its edges. Navy wool coat, navy knit beneath it, and a navy shadow thrown by the concrete ring itself — garment and architecture sharing the one colour so that only the face and the flowers break from it. This is camaïeu discipline: no second hue competing for attention, separation carried instead by texture — wool against poured concrete against glass — and by the direction of a cold, flat light bouncing off the tube's curve.

Three looks move through the terminal without ever settling into a slideshow: the tube's mouth with the glass curve arcing behind, the moving walkway inside the ring with the collar up, and the arrivals rail with the doors sliding and the flowers finally lifted. Each is a different register of the same emotion, not three separate photos strung together.

What comes back is a photograph, not a painting and not a stand-in for someone else's face — it's your own, generated from the selfie you upload, dressed and lit and placed inside Terminal One's navy light. The airport is real. The reunion is staged. The face is entirely yours.

How to photograph yourself for a Terminal One airport photoshoot

The AI needs a clear read on your face to place it convincingly inside Terminal One's cold, flat light — five minutes with your phone gets you there.

  1. Even, soft lightFace a window or a bright, overcast sky. Avoid a single hard lamp or direct sun — it will fight the terminal's flat, diffused light instead of matching it.
  2. Front or three-quarter angleLook straight at the camera or turn slightly — both work. Avoid a hard profile or a chin-down angle that hides your features.
  3. Face fully clearNo sunglasses, no hat brim, no hand near the jaw. Hair off the eyes. The AI needs the whole face to build a convincing likeness.
  4. A composed expressionA neutral or gently held expression reads best — the drama comes from the setting and the pose, not from an exaggerated smile.
  5. Plain background is fineA bedroom wall, a hallway, anywhere with even light works — the AI replaces the background entirely, so a fussy setting isn't necessary.

Frequently asked questions

Will it actually look like a real photograph?
Yes — the output is built to read as an actual photograph taken at Terminal One, not an illustration or a filter. Grain, light falloff, and the imperfect specular of glass and concrete are part of the point.
Do I need to have actually flown through Terminal One for this to work?
No. You upload one selfie from anywhere and the AI builds the terminal, the light, and the navy wardrobe around your face — no travel, no real coat required.
What's the difference between the free preview and the full pack?
The free preview generates one portrait so you can see your face in the register before committing. The full pack delivers nine portraits across all three looks.
How is this different from a generic AI headshot tool?
A generic headshot tool or a Lensa-style filter smooths and restyles your existing photo. This builds an entire new scene — location, wardrobe, light — around your likeness, in a single deliberate colour register rather than a generic studio backdrop.
I'm a woman — can I use this pack?
This pack's styling (the coat, the flowers held low, the register) is built for men. The world's bias runs one way here, so a women's version isn't what you'd get from this specific pack.
What if my source photo isn't great?
A slightly imperfect photo is fine as long as your face is clearly visible and evenly lit — see the prep tips above. Heavy shadow, sunglasses, or a face turned far from camera will hurt the result more than lighting quality will.
Can I use this for a dating profile or as a gift?
Yes — personal use like a dating profile photo, a print, or a gift is exactly what this is built for. It isn't licensed for commercial resale or reuse in advertising.
What happens to the photo I upload?
Your photo is processed on European servers and isn't shared with third parties. It's used only to generate your portraits.
Why January specifically, and why navy?
January light at Roissy runs cold and flat under an overcast sky, which is what gives the navy palette its shadow and its glass its particular grey-blue cast — a summer terminal wouldn't produce the same register.
Do the flowers need to be a specific kind?
No — the AI generates a generic bunch of flowers held at the side or raised at the rail. You don't need to source or hold real flowers for your selfie.

When the Terminal One pack fits

  • A dating profile photo that reads as a real moment, not a studio headshot
  • A profile picture for Hinge, Bumble, or a matchmaking site
  • An Instagram or Threads post with a genuine narrative behind it
  • A wall print in navy and concrete tones for a modern flat
  • A gift for a partner who knows the story behind an airport reunion
  • A phone wallpaper with a cinematic, cold-light mood
  • A keepsake photo for an anniversary tied to travel or distance
  • A LinkedIn-adjacent portrait with more edge than a standard headshot
  • A vision-board image built around reunion, arrival, or a long-distance relationship ending

About narcis

Most AI portrait tools ship every pose, profession, era, and aesthetic in one giant catalog. The output looks like every other AI photo on the internet — a glaze over a stock face. Narcis goes the other way. One tool, one job: turn photos of you into portraits worth keeping. Drop a selfie and your free preview streams in seconds — a quick sketch: close, not you yet. For portraits that are truly you, train your own model on 12 to 20 photos; it trains in the background, and we email you when it is ready. Train once, render everywhere — this pack, every other pack, and the Studio all come out of that one model, about ten seconds a portrait, and it stays yours to retrain or delete. Each pack is hand-curated against actual references — paintings, photographers, registers — and tested on real faces before it ships. See a free preview before you pay, not after. Packs are one-time — no subscription to buy one; Studio, the unlimited composer, is optional at €12/month and every pack includes 30 days of it. No template generator. Built and run by one team, on our own infrastructure.
