The Cheese Cave pack sets a craftsman portrait inside one real trade: an affinage cave, stone vaults, wheels of cheese on wooden shelves, their rinds grey-stone, a stone-grey linen apron worn against them. Vault, rind and linen share one stone hue — the apron the frame's silhouette.

Photographically the register is the corridor's own soft light: even against the vault's stone, closer at the shelves where a hand rests on the wood beside a grey rind. Nothing else breaks the stone grey.
