The Chevalier Garde register

This pack is one of Etiquette's royal court photoshoot series — the courts of Europe, 1450–1935 — set around the Chevalier Garde: the Russian emperor's own cavalry guard, white and silver on parade at Palace Square, waltzing at its own regimental ball. The value is the most beautiful cavalry uniform in Europe, worn in the palace it guarded.

Photographically the register is Winter Palace daylight and gaslight: the Chevalier Guard's white tunic with red collar and silver lace, a silver cuirass, white breeches and high black boots, a silver helmet with a gilt double eagle, a sabre. The palette runs white, silver, red, gold eagle, and malachite green.
