Drive My Car is built around a red Swedish saloon and the long drives of a theatre director across Hiroshima's grey roads. The pack keeps its rule: roads, sky and coat all grey, and the car the single red.

The first photograph is tight at the car's red door, the road grey behind. The second is chest-up in the theatre's quiet foyer. The third is half-length by the car on the sea road, the red whole in the frame. The light is flat and even, the light of an overcast day.
