The Goethe register

This pack draws on Tischbein's 1787 Goethe in the Roman Campagna — the pose reclining on a fallen relief, the white travelling cloak, the ruins as attribute and the sky enormous behind him — plus two other stops of his real Italian journey: the temples of Agrigento and a garden bench echoing his own Werther. The value is the Grand Tour at its most iconic pose, not a generic toga photoshoot.

Photographically the register runs Tischbein's wide golden evening light for the Campagna, honey-and-blue noon for the temples, and dappled green-and-blue for the garden bench.
