The Golden Horde register
This pack draws on the western-khan register — braided hair under a fur-brimmed hat with a gold finial, a gold-embroidered blue deel with a sable collar, a jewelled belt, lamellar armor beneath for war, a sabre. The palette runs gold, sable, blue silk, snow, and Volga grey — the vocabulary of Batu Khan's court at Sarai, where the steppe met the forest and Russian princes came to kneel.
