This pack is one of Etiquette's royal court photoshoot series — the Lion of the North, campaign dress rather than palace dress, from the landing at Peenemünde to the fog of Lützen in November 1632. It's cold northern light on the king who made Sweden a great power at the head of his own cavalry.

Photographically the register is early-seventeenth-century Swedish campaign dress — a buff leather coat over a gold-embroidered doublet, a wide lace collar, a blue silk sash, a breastplate, high spurred boots, and a wide plumed hat. The palette runs buff, blue, gold, steel, and fog grey.
