The City of Wooden Lace register

Irkutsk is a Siberian city of merchant houses in dark timber, their window frames carved in fretwork like lace and painted grey-green and white, leaning with the frost heave above an embankment of grey granite. The pack puts the architect there. Every value is weathered timber, from pale silver to dark log, and a grey-green wool coat over a dove-grey knit joins the walls.
