The Marmara Marble register
Nişantaşı is the Istanbul district of 1900s apartment buildings, whose stairs and floors are the grey-veined white of Marmara marble and whose façades are cream and white. The register is marble white: the veined stone, the white coat's twill, the plaster and the façade render sit in one value, and the face is the only other colour.
