This pack draws on the Alpine December run — Salzburg's and Tyrol's Krampuslauf: the hand-carved mask, the goat-pelt suit, the chains and bells, the torches on the old street, the mask off at the inn afterwards. It's a men's troupe tradition, carried by its own documented gear and gait.

Photographically the register runs a hard torch key on the street, a torch key with carved detail lit on the horns during the Perchten run, and a warm inn-lamp key afterward; the palette holds torch fire, goat fur, carved wood, snow, and Glühwein.

Three takes carry the pack: the mask raised to the forehead on a Salzburg street at night with the goat pelt and chains over the shoulder, in full mask on the Perchten run with a torch's flame reflected in the horns, and at the inn afterward with the mask set on the table beside a Glühwein and sawdust on the floor.
