The Ludwig II register

This pack draws on Ludwig II of Bavaria, 1864 to 1886 — the tall boy-king who built Neuschwanstein and the Venus grotto at Linderhof, the swan of Lohengrin, a monarch who lived inside his own opera and paid for the dream himself.

Photographically the register is cool daylight and gold on the uniform, deep blue and gold at the grotto, and blue night with lantern gold on the sleigh road. The palette is Bavarian blue, silver, ermine, grotto blue and sleigh gold.

Three scenes carry the pack: the uniform and the Order's collar on a marble stair with a Lohengrin mural, a black velvet coat and swan badge in a shell-shaped boat on the lit blue lake, and a fur coat in a gilt sleigh under a full moon.
