On race weekend in May the terraces above Monaco's harbour hairpin are the best seats in the principality. The yachts are white, the sea is navy, and the barriers' colours are held low. The pack puts a man on one of those terraces in two colours, a navy polo and white trousers.

The first photograph is close at the terrace rail with the sea navy soft behind him. The second is chest-up on the terrace with white yachts below. The third is half-length at the rail so the harbour spreads out. Navy and white are matched in saturation with navy the heavier, and there is no third hue. The light is bright Riviera light.
