The Optician pack sets a headshot inside one real setting: an optician's shop, walnut display cases, tortoiseshell frames in rows, a tobacco wool dress worn against the grey street outside. Walnut, acetate and wool share one tobacco hue — the tortoiseshell frames she wears the frame's silhouette.

Photographically the register is the shop's own soft light: full against the walnut case with its rows of frames, catching the tortoiseshell's specular at the fitting mirror. Nothing else breaks the tobacco.
