The Writer portrait register

In April the Bosphorus below Cihangir turns a soft grey-blue, ferries cross it, and the city's tulip beds come into bloom along the water. The pack puts a writer at his apartment window in a grey wool jacket over a grey shirt. Water, city and cloth are held to one hazy grey-blue, and a single bed of red tulips is the only hue that breaks it.

Three frames carry the look. A head and shoulders at the window, the strait a soft plane behind the face. A chest-up on the Cihangir steps with the water in the blur.
