The quipucamayoc register
The quipucamayoc kept an empire's memory in knotted cord — no writing, just quipus, an intellectual register with an unexpected sibling in this house's own el-caracol pack. This pack renders the archive itself: hundreds of cords, torchlit, precise.
Three frames carry it. The archive curtain, hundreds of quipus hanging from wall pegs, one cord running through his fingers, torchlight on colored strands. Reading before the officials, the quipu spread wide between raised hands, storehouse terraces through the door — the accountant as orator. The qullqa terraces at dusk, round stone storehouses stepped up the hillside, valley patchwork below in last light.
The palette is umber, flame amber, storehouse stone — archival and warm-lit, precise rather than ceremonial.
