A Reykjavik New Years Eve at the Bonfire

Nine photos of you in one setting

How your model is created from your photos

Every pack on Narcis, made with your face

Nine photographs of you in one setting: one pack of the Narcis catalogue.

Nine photographs of you, styled after a Reykjavik New Year's Eve — a patterned lopapeysa and long coat before a neighbourhood bonfire, a sequinned top under an open coat on a hillside at midnight with fireworks filling the sky, a lit red doorway with a sparkler in hand, in portrait format. The nine vary in crop, expression and light, so there are real choices, not nine identical files.

The Reykjavik New Year's register

Reykjavik's Midnight stages the 31st the way the city actually keeps it — neighbourhood bonfires lit at eight, wool and champagne in the snow, then a whole capital firing its own fireworks from every street at once, the sky solid with them. It's less a single scene than an escalation: fire on the ground first, then fire filling the air.

Photographically the register runs bonfire orange against snow blue, then a sky lit from every direction at midnight — the lopapeysa's pattern read as texture, the sitter lit by flame from below and bursts from above rather than one studio key. The palette is bonfire orange, snow blue, firework colour, lopapeysa grey and white, and champagne gold.

Three takes carry the pack: full length before a bonfire twice her height in a patterned lopapeysa and long black coat, the flames' orange on her face and the town's corrugated houses behind; standing on a snowy hill above town with the coat open over a sequinned top and a glass raised, the sky solid with fireworks in every colour; and a half-length shot at a red iron house's lit door in the sweater and a knitted hat, a sparkler in hand, snow falling.

The output is photoreal — a real-looking photograph of you at that bonfire and under that sky, not an illustration or a postcard render. The pack borrows the lopapeysa's pattern, the bonfire's light, and the city's own fireworks tradition as costume and setting.

How to photograph yourself for a Reykjavik new years eve photoshoot

Better source photos make better portraits.

  1. Even, soft lightStand near a window with indirect daylight on your face. A flat, well-lit selfie gives the pack the clearest face to work from.
  2. Front or three-quarter angleCamera at eye level, facing it or turned slightly to three-quarter. No selfie-stick uplook, no shot from below.
  3. Face fully clearHair off the face, no hats, sunglasses, or filters in the source photo. A clear, front-facing photo is the best input for an AI portrait.
  4. A bright, open expressionThe midnight-fireworks register favors an up-turned, delighted look over a neutral pose — it reads best against a sky full of colour.
  5. Plain background is fineDon't worry about your own backdrop — the pack's three settings replace it entirely. A plain wall behind you just helps the model focus on your face.

Frequently asked questions

Will it actually look like a real photograph?
Yes. The output is photoreal — a genuine-looking celebration photograph, not an illustration or a postcard render — built around three real settings: the bonfire, the hillside at midnight, and the lit doorway.
Is this a photo of a real Icelandic new year, or of me?
It's a portrait of you. The lopapeysa, the bonfire, and the fireworks sky are costume and setting; every frame is a portrait of you.
Can men use this pack?
The styling and sample set are built for women — the patterned lopapeysa and the long coat among them — so it reads feminine.
Can I use this as my New Year's Eve social post?
Yes — it's built for exactly that. Personal use like a social post, a card, or a keepsake print is fine; it isn't licensed for commercial resale.
Can I use it as a profile picture?
Yes — it's a striking, well-composed portrait that reads well on any profile. Used honestly, as a stylised AI photoshoot rather than a claim of a real trip, it works well anywhere a profile picture goes.
Will the photos look like me?
Every photo looks like you, well photographed. If one is nearly right, say what to change, in your own words.
Do I have to write a prompt?
No. There is nothing to write: you pick a pack, and it is ready in seconds.
How many photos of myself do I add?
Between six and twenty, from different days and in different light, with your face clear. We check each one when you add it.
What happens to the photos I add?
They are used only to create your model, on our own servers in the European Union. They are not shared and not sold.

About narcis

Most AI photo tools put every pose, job, era, and style in one giant catalog. The photos all look like every other AI photo on the internet — a glaze over a stock face. Narcis goes the other way. One job: photos of you that look like photographs. You add at least 6 photos of yourself, and we create your AI model from them. Your photos are ready in a few hours, and we email you when they are. Then this pack and every other pack on Narcis can be made with your face. Each pack is curated against real references — paintings, photographers, places — and tested on real faces before it goes live. Built and run by one small team, on our own servers.
