The Romeo register
This pack draws on Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 Verona — the Montague boy in blue climbing to the Capulet balcony, the duel in noon dust, the friar's cell, the torchlit tomb. The value is Shakespeare's most-staged young lover at his three most-painted moments.
Photographically the register is cool moonlight and one warm window for the orchard wall, hard white noon dust for the square, torch-gold shadow for the tomb; the palette runs blue velvet, white linen, Verona stone.
Three takes carry the pack: a blue velvet doublet and white shirt climbing a stone wall among fruit trees at night, the doublet and dagger at noon in a dusty piazza, and a black doublet kneeling at a torchlit stone bier — three real scenes from the play, not one costume in three rooms.
