The lake in the sky register
Lake Sevan, the great lake of Armenia, lies nearly two thousand metres up: a sheet of deep blue water ringed by bare brown mountains, a rocky peninsula with two small dark stone churches on its crest, gulls, and a research station for the lake's trout at the shore.
