The Marble Gorge register

On the island's east coast, a gorge has been cut through solid marble. Its walls of grey-white and veined stone rise sheer for hundreds of metres above a milky turquoise river, tunnels are bored through the rock, and the light bounces white off the stone. The pack puts the geologist in that gorge.
