The Rock Church register

The Temppeliaukio church is blasted into the granite bedrock of a Helsinki square. Its walls are the raw rock itself, and its roof is a shallow dome of coiled copper wire resting on a ring of glass, with daylight falling between the copper and the stone. The pack dresses the architect in the two materials of the room: a copper-brown leather jacket over a granite-grey knit, granite the larger share.
