The The Blossom Gift register
For two weeks in April the cherry trees given by Tokyo in 1912 bloom around the Tidal Basin in Washington, the Jefferson Memorial's dome across the water. It is the city's gift, and a diplomat's or a policy professional's portrait in the blossom is a portrait of the capital at its softest.
Three photographs. Under the blossoming branches at the basin's edge, the pink clouds soft around you, the coat collar up. Seated on the low stone edge with petals on the stone beside and on the water behind, the coat buttoned. And at half-length across the water, the memorial's white dome framed by the blossoming trees and its reflection pale on the basin.
The palette is blossom pink: wool, petal and water. The light is soft overcast spring light, even, with petals glowing.
How to take source photos for the The Blossom Gift pack
Better source photos make better portraits. A few things sharpen the likeness before the wardrobe and the setting go on top.
- Even, soft lightStand near a window with indirect daylight on your face. Avoid overhead bulbs and phone flash; both flatten the face.
- Front or three-quarter angleCamera at eye level, facing it or turned slightly. No shot from below, no wide-angle close-up.
- Face fully clearHair off the face, no hats or sunglasses. A clear, front-facing photo gives the most of you to work with.
- Poised and friendlyDiplomacy is courtesy. A pleasant, composed expression in your source photos suits the blossom.
- Plain background is fineDo not worry about your own backdrop. The pack's three settings replace it entirely.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this taken at the Tidal Basin?
- The setting is built from it: the blossoming trees, the stone edge of the basin and the memorial across the water.
- Is it a seasonal picture?
- It is April in Washington, the two weeks the blossom is out. The pack keeps it for the rest of the year.
- Is it suitable for a professional profile?
- Yes. A wool coat in soft pink reads as polished and approachable.
- Will the photos look like me?
- Every photo looks like you, well photographed. If one is nearly right, say what to change, in your own words.
- Do I have to write a prompt?
- No. There is nothing to write: you pick a pack, and it is ready in seconds.
- How many photos of myself do I add?
- Between six and twenty, from different days and in different light, with your face clear. We check each one when you add it.
- What happens to the photos I add?
- They are used only to create your model, on our own servers in the European Union. They are not shared and not sold.
When the The Blossom Gift pack fits

- A policy professional headshot for a think tank, an NGO or a government relations team
- A Washington DC headshot for LinkedIn that feels more like April than a filing cabinet
- A professional headshot for women in international affairs or public policy
- A spring portrait for a visitor, an intern or a fellow in the capital
About narcis
Most AI photo tools put every pose, job, era, and style in one giant catalog. The photos all look like every other AI photo on the internet — a glaze over a stock face. Narcis goes the other way. One job: photos of you that look like photographs. You add at least 6 photos of yourself, and we create your AI model from them. Your photos are ready in a few hours, and we email you when they are. Then this pack and every other pack on Narcis can be made with your face. Each pack is curated against real references — paintings, photographers, places — and tested on real faces before it goes live. Built and run by one small team, on our own servers.
All images are AI-generated. By using this service, you confirm you are 18+, that any face photo you upload is your own or used with explicit consent. Full Terms
