A Toile de Jouy Dress Photoshoot

Nine photos of you in one setting

How your model is created from your photos

Every pack on Narcis, made with your face

Nine photographs of you in one setting: one pack of the Narcis catalogue.

Nine photographs of you, styled after the toile de Jouy French-bedroom register -- a shirt dress, a robe over a slip, a jacket and wide trousers, each set against blue toile grounds at a different scale, in portrait format. The nine vary in crop, expression and light, so there are real choices, not nine identical files.

The Toile de Jouy register

This pack belongs to the house's motif-sur-motif series: the same print worn twice, at two different scales, so the garment and the ground share one language. The toile de jouy dress photoshoot draws on the one-colour pastoral printed on cream cotton since 1760 -- shepherds, swings, ruins repeating in a single blue -- set in a bedroom papered, curtained, and upholstered in the same print.

Photographically the register runs three genuine takes: seated on a toile-upholstered chaise beneath toile-papered walls in a shirt dress, soft window light keeping the dress's cotton crisp against the wallpaper's softer haze; standing at a toile-curtained window in an open robe, backlight glowing through the curtain onto the robe's front; lying across a toile bed in a jacket and wide trousers, overhead light flattening every scale into one blue story but for the jacket's seam. One cream ribbon is the only plain line in the frame.

The output is photoreal -- a real-looking French-interior photograph, not an illustration or a wallpaper sample. It's a print on print outfit, composed for the toile register rather than pulled from any single reference photo.

How to photograph yourself for Toile de Jouy portraits

Better source photos make better portraits.

  1. Even, soft lightStand near a window with indirect daylight on your face. The pack builds its own light on top of your selfie -- a flat, well-lit source photo gives it the clearest face to work from.
  2. Front or three-quarter angleCamera at eye level, facing it or turned slightly to three-quarter. No selfie-stick uplook, no shot from below.
  3. Face fully clearHair off the face, no hats, sunglasses, or heavy filters in the source photo. A clear, front-facing photo is the best input for an AI portrait.
  4. A soft, unhurried expressionThe toile register favors a calm, morning-light look over a big grin -- a relaxed, quiet expression in your source photo carries more naturally into the French-interior frames.
  5. Plain background is fineDon't worry about your own backdrop -- the pack's settings replace it entirely. A plain wall behind you just helps the model focus on your face.

Frequently asked questions

Will it actually look like a real photograph?
Yes. The output is photoreal -- a real-looking photograph, not a painting or an illustration -- built from toile de jouy dress photoshoot at three distinct takes. Seated on a toile chaise, standing at a toile-curtained window, and lying across a toile bed -- three real settings, not one repeated.
Is this a real photo of anyone, or of me?
It's a portrait of you. The pack borrows the Toile de Jouy register as a costume and visual reference; every frame is a portrait of you.
Can men use this pack?
The styling and sample set are built for women -- the shirt dress and robe among them -- so it reads feminine.
Can I use this as a profile picture or on a dating app?
Yes -- it's a striking, well-composed portrait that reads well on either. Used honestly, as a stylised AI photoshoot rather than a claim of a real shoot, it works well on any profile.
Will the photos look like me?
Every photo looks like you, well photographed. If one is nearly right, say what to change, in your own words.
Do I have to write a prompt?
No. There is nothing to write: you pick a pack, and it is ready in seconds.
How many photos of myself do I add?
Between six and twenty, from different days and in different light, with your face clear. We check each one when you add it.
What happens to the photos I add?
They are used only to create your model, on our own servers in the European Union. They are not shared and not sold.

About narcis

Most AI photo tools put every pose, job, era, and style in one giant catalog. The photos all look like every other AI photo on the internet — a glaze over a stock face. Narcis goes the other way. One job: photos of you that look like photographs. You add at least 6 photos of yourself, and we create your AI model from them. Your photos are ready in a few hours, and we email you when they are. Then this pack and every other pack on Narcis can be made with your face. Each pack is curated against real references — paintings, photographers, places — and tested on real faces before it goes live. Built and run by one small team, on our own servers.

All images are AI-generated. By using this service, you confirm you are 18+, that any face photo you upload is your own or used with explicit consent. Full Terms
