The Annex register

The Annex, Toronto's bay-and-gable Victorians in red brick and oxblood trim, with a practice in a converted parlour that keeps its original oak staircase. Maples turn red in October on Brunswick Avenue.

The palette is the house's own: an oxblood wool crew-neck under a brown corduroy jacket, set against the red brick and the sash window's maple red. The light is October's low gold from the window side, the shadow side half-open, and the face is the only other colour in the frame.
