Photographically the register runs on lamp light — warm, close, directional — against a palette of record-sleeve colour and cabinet wood. Nothing else competes for the frame.

Three takes carry the pack: crouched at the record wall pulling a sleeve out, seated on the floor with headphones on and a sleeve in the lap, and standing at the turntable lowering the needle — three real ways a record collection gets used, not one pose repeated.
