Three frames carry it. The plate is a dead-frontal bust against a plank wall, flat plate-light leaving no shadow to hide in, sepia-toned. The hideout counts banded notes by a single oil lamp, the room's corners falling to black. The jailbreak hour catches a struck match flaring against the jaw, shadow bars laddering the wall behind.
