The Painted Hill register

Bo-Kaap climbs a hillside under the mountain in flat-fronted Cape Dutch and Georgian houses painted lime green, pink, yellow, blue and white, along steep cobbled streets with mosques and minarets above. Green and pink carry the terraces, and the pack keeps those proportions in the background. The architect wears the other two, a blue linen jacket over a yellow shirt, so he is dressed in two of the five colours his hill was painted in.
