The high mesa of New Mexico in 1943: dry grass, piñon, a wooden barracks and a wide flat horizon under hard clear light. The pack takes the look a recent film gave its physicist and keeps it to one brown, from the pale straw of the grass to the dark tobacco of a wool suit, a brown tie and a brown porkpie hat.
