This pack draws on black-and-white film: Tri-X grain, a soft window or a single soft light, a mid-grey wall — the author's jacket photo, the architect's, the one that reads serious and a little timeless.
Photographically the register is a dark blazer over a light shirt, a turtleneck, or a plain shirt — hair natural, palette of film grain, grey wall, and black and white cloth, no colour.
Three takes carry the pack: framed head-and-shoulders against a mid-grey wall with visible grain, in the dark blazer, squared to the lens; turned three-quarter with the chin on one hand, in the turtleneck; and framed slightly wider with the shoulders relaxed, in the plain shirt, the wall falling to darker grey.
