Every pack on Narcis, made with your face
Nine photographs of you in one setting: one pack of the Narcis catalogue.
Nine photographs of you in a grand canyon geologist strata setting, in portrait format. The nine vary in crop, expression and light, so there are real choices, not nine identical files.

The The Strata register
A mile of rock lies open at the South Rim, in bands from the rim to the river, and a geologist reads it like a page. This pack gives the portrait the record behind it: the strata as the background and the palette.
Three photographs. At the rim's edge in the field shirt and neckerchief, the hand lens at your chest and the layered walls soft behind. Seated on a ledge of cream limestone with the far wall stacked above your shoulder. And at half-length from a point on the rim, the whole depth opening behind you, each stratum a band across the frame and the river a thin dark thread below.
The palette is the canyon's own stratigraphy: Kaibab cream, Coconino buff, Hermit red, Redwall rust and the near-black of the schist, in their proportions. You wear two of them. The light is a low sun raking the walls.
How to take source photos for the The Strata pack
Better source photos make better portraits. A few things sharpen the likeness before the wardrobe and the setting go on top.
- Even, soft lightStand near a window with indirect daylight on your face. Avoid overhead bulbs and phone flash; both flatten the face.
- Front or three-quarter angleCamera at eye level, facing it or turned slightly. No shot from below, no wide-angle close-up.
- Face fully clearHair off the face, no hats or sunglasses. A clear, front-facing photo gives the most of you to work with.
- A squint-into-the-sun lookA field scientist looks out, not at a desk. A natural, slightly weathered expression in your source photos suits the rim.
- Plain background is fineDo not worry about your own backdrop. The pack's three settings replace it entirely.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this taken at the real Grand Canyon?
- The setting is built from the South Rim and its strata, from cream limestone at the top to dark schist below. The face is yours.
- Why those colours?
- The pack uses the canyon's own layers as a swatch book, and you wear two of them: a buff shirt and a red neckerchief.
- Is it a serious headshot?
- Yes. A field shirt and a hand lens read as expertise in the open air, which suits outdoor and technical professions.
- Will the photos look like me?
- Every photo looks like you, well photographed. If one is nearly right, say what to change, in your own words.
- Do I have to write a prompt?
- No. There is nothing to write: you pick a pack, and it is ready in seconds.
- How many photos of myself do I add?
- Between six and twenty, from different days and in different light, with your face clear. We check each one when you add it.
- What happens to the photos I add?
- They are used only to create your model, on our own servers in the European Union. They are not shared and not sold.
When the The Strata pack fits
- A geologist portrait for a survey, a mining or an environmental consultancy page
- A scientist headshot for an earth-science department or a field-school website
- An outdoor professional headshot for a guide, ranger or park educator
- A book jacket or lecture poster for natural history and science writing
- A gift for someone who picks up every interesting rock on a walk
About narcis
Most AI photo tools put every pose, job, era, and style in one giant catalog. The photos all look like every other AI photo on the internet — a glaze over a stock face. Narcis goes the other way. One job: photos of you that look like photographs. You add at least 6 photos of yourself, and we create your AI model from them. Your photos are ready in a few hours, and we email you when they are. Then this pack and every other pack on Narcis can be made with your face. Each pack is curated against real references — paintings, photographers, places — and tested on real faces before it goes live. Built and run by one small team, on our own servers.
