The register is disciplined-opulent, palette of lacquered iron, crimson surcoat, frost, steel dawn.

Three situations carry it. The frontier dawn: mounted on a ridge above frost-silvered Anatolian steppe, mask down, breath steaming through the iron, first light on lamellar rows. The wedge: at the point of a forming wedge of armored riders, mask up, arm raised to halt the line.
