The Cochineal City register

In the southern mountains stands a colonial city of green stone and painted walls, with a textile museum in a restored mansion built around courtyards. The region gave the world cochineal, the red made from an insect, and the wool hangs there in skeins from pale rose to crimson in a dry, warm light. The pack puts the museum director among them.

She wears a crimson wool coat over a rose silk blouse, and the red holds in every value from pale rose to deep crimson.
