The sparklers photoshoot draws on lit sparklers at dusk -- white fire that throws sparks in every direction and lights whoever holds it from below and close, a dark garden the rest of the frame.

Photographically the register runs three genuine takes: standing on the dark lawn holding one sparkler close to the face, in a sequinned dress, the spark lighting the chin white while every sequin catches fire and the lawn stays black; seated on the garden step with a sparkler in each hand, in a white slip and cardigan, the sparks rimming the face while the step vanishes; turning on the lawn with a sparkler drawn in an arc, in a satin blouse and jeans, the arc lighting the blouse in a moving line against dusk-dark sky.
