The Split Gel register

This pack belongs to the house's gels-et-projecteurs series: coloured light is the whole palette, the garments stay neutral, and the gel colours name the frame. The split gel photoshoot draws on the classic album-cover studio move -- two lights, two gels, one red and one blue, the face split by the seam between them.

Photographically the register runs three genuine takes: standing centred in a black studio with red from the left and blue from the right, in a bomber over a white tee, the two gels splitting the face down the middle and turning the tee red on one side, blue on the other; seated on a black stool with haze showing both beams, in a white shirt, red rimming one shoulder while blue fills the face; leaning toward the lens with the seam running across the cheek, in a turtleneck, the two gels crossing on the face while the turtleneck stays black.
