Icheon, an hour from Seoul, is where the Goryeo celadon glaze was revived — climbing kilns cut into the hillside, potters' yards stacked with grey-green jars, jade wares inlaid with cranes and clouds. It is the one town in Korea whose whole economy is a single glaze, refined for a thousand years.
