This pack belongs to the earth-tone series — one colour worn ton sur ton, the setting dyed to match the wardrobe. Jaisalmer Gold takes the golden city of the Thar: a fort of yellow sandstone rising out of sand the same shade, the carved façades of Patwon ki Haveli, the dunes at Sam. The city and the desert already share a colour; wearing it makes the wardrobe the third thing that agrees.

The wardrobe is Rajasthan desert editorial: a mustard silk sari with a gold-thread border, a saffron cotton kurta over ochre trousers, a gold-yellow chiffon dress with a matching dupatta. Hair in a plait, a gold nose ring. The palette runs gold, mustard, saffron, honey sandstone and sand, with a single turquoise bangle as the one deliberate break.
