The The Kelp Forest register

Off Cannery Row, giant kelp grows in forests, and the marine station sits on the rocks at their edge. The marine biologist is the person who knows the forest best, and this pack photographs her in its colours: olive and gold, filtered through water.

Three photographs. Before the great window of a kelp-forest tank, the fronds rising behind you with light falling through them in soft shafts. Seated on a rock ledge at the station's edge with a clipboard on one knee, the floating mats of kelp golden on a grey-green swell. And at half-length on the rocks, the kelp canopy spreading over the bay toward a bank of fog.

The palette is the kelp's own olive and gold, and the light is Monterey's bright fog light. Waxed cotton, knit and water give the colour its texture, so the frame stays one family without going flat.

How to take source photos for the The Kelp Forest pack

Better source photos make better portraits. A few things sharpen the likeness before the wardrobe and the setting go on top.

  1. Even, soft lightStand near a window with indirect daylight on your face. Avoid overhead bulbs and phone flash; both flatten the face.
  2. Front or three-quarter angleCamera at eye level, facing it or turned slightly. No shot from below, no wide-angle close-up.
  3. Face fully clearHair off the face, no hats or sunglasses. A clear, front-facing photo gives the most of you to work with.
  4. Open, curious expressionA field scientist looks at the world with attention. A bright, interested look in your source photos suits the shoreline.
  5. Plain background is fineDo not worry about your own backdrop. The pack's three settings replace it entirely.

Frequently asked questions

Is this taken at a real aquarium?
The setting is built from Monterey Bay: the kelp-forest window, the rocky station ledge and the foggy shoreline. You are the person in it.
Why olive and gold?
Giant kelp is olive and gold in the water, and the sun turns it to light. The pack dresses you in those colours.
Will it read as a serious scientist headshot?
Yes. A field jacket, a clipboard and a window of living kelp say research without a lab coat.
Will the photos look like me?
Every photo looks like you, well photographed. If one is nearly right, say what to change, in your own words.
Do I have to write a prompt?
No. There is nothing to write: you pick a pack, and it is ready in seconds.
How many photos of myself do I add?
Between six and twenty, from different days and in different light, with your face clear. We check each one when you add it.
What happens to the photos I add?
They are used only to create your model, on our own servers in the European Union. They are not shared and not sold.

When the The Kelp Forest pack fits

  • A marine biologist portrait for a university, an aquarium or a conservation group's team page
  • A scientist headshot for women in ocean science, for grants and conference programmes
  • A researcher profile photo for a science-communication channel or a book jacket
  • A profile picture for a diver, a naturalist or a coastal volunteer
  • A gift for the person who always goes to the aquarium first

About narcis

Most AI photo tools put every pose, job, era, and style in one giant catalog. The photos all look like every other AI photo on the internet — a glaze over a stock face. Narcis goes the other way. One job: photos of you that look like photographs. You add at least 6 photos of yourself, and we create your AI model from them. Your photos are ready in a few hours, and we email you when they are. Then this pack and every other pack on Narcis can be made with your face. Each pack is curated against real references — paintings, photographers, places — and tested on real faces before it goes live. Built and run by one small team, on our own servers.

All images are AI-generated. By using this service, you confirm you are 18+, that any face photo you upload is your own or used with explicit consent. Full Terms
