The Omisoka register
This pack draws on Kyoto's last night of the year: the temple's great bell struck 108 times, snow on the cedar roof, toshikoshi soba, and the lantern queue for the first shrine visit at midnight. The value is the stillness of the year's last minute — the sitter lit by one lantern, the bell's curve as the frame's horizon.
