The Alaia register

The Tunisian master's house in the Marais was a former warehouse where he lived, cooked for his models and fitted dresses by hand on the body until two in the morning: iron columns, a glass roof, a long kitchen table. His black knit clung like a second skin and made the body the silhouette. The pack dresses you in it, a stretch knit fitted from neck to knee with a wide black belt, every black from iron charcoal to matte depth.

You stand before an iron column with the knit's high neck and the clean line of the shoulder, rest a hand on the long table's edge with the belt buckle and the seam at the waist in frame, and stand between the columns at full length with the glass roof's light falling down the room. The light is soft and even from above. The mood is a woman fitted, not dressed.
