The Mugler register

The towers of the business district west of Paris at night are black glass and chrome cladding, over a plaza of polished black granite wet with rain. The Alsatian designer's eighties man belongs to it: a black suit with shoulders cut like armour, a black shirt, a chrome collar bar and one chrome cuff the only metal. The pack dresses you in that suit, every black from wet granite to matte wool.

You stand before black glass with the suit's armour-sharp shoulder and the chrome bar at the collar, rest a hand on a chrome-clad pillar with the cuff against the black sleeve, and stand at the plaza's centre at half-length with the black towers and the wet granite reflecting the night. The light is hard from one side, the shadow side near black. The mood is a futuristic eighties man, sharp and cold.
